The future of classrooms according to 5,000 virtual educators and students

The challenge
A ministry of education needed to evaluate 4 different pedagogical models for post-pandemic schooling. Real pilots would take 2 years and affect thousands of real students.
What we did
We built 5,000 digital beings: 3,500 students with different learning styles, attention spans and family contexts, plus 1,500 educators with different methodologies. We ran each model through a simulated school year.
Results
- —78% of current pedagogical models fail in digital engagement
- —The personalized hybrid model outperformed in-person in 34% of cases
- —3 critical factors that predict dropout identified
- —Pilot plan adopted in 12 schools based on the results
“We simulated a school year in an afternoon. What we learned would have taken a generation.”
